Decent benefits, some partners are very supportive and always available, excellent clients and work

Cons

Family feel was destroyed with merger, upper management still has its cliques, over 20 partners/managing directors "left" since the merger, revenue has dropped over 30 percent, several partners are counting days until they can leave, high turnover, senior managers and directors are salesmen (if you can build a book of business or can get close to the clique you have success in Houston)

Pros

Good pay, nice benefits. Work is not that complicated. BDO seems like a great company overall, just not the Houston office.

Cons

Non client centric managers who only want to advance thier career and micro manage. Poor managment overall. Proof is in the very high turn over. (Most people go to RSM.) Morale is very low.

Pros

Decent pay. Free coffee. Nice amenities. The majority of people at BDO are great to work with and very talented - this review only applies to a small group within consulting.

Cons

I can only speak for a segment of the consulting group but... Very long hours. NO work life balance! You're a slave to the billable hour. No time to eat lunch or even use the rest room. Tons of micromanagement!!! Your every move is monitored. Unnecessarily punitive. The work wasn't hard but they work you like a machine and don't treat you like a human being. Zero human interaction. The competition between you and your coworkers is unhealthy - someone is always waiting to throw you under the bus. No one seemed happy. In fact, everyone seemed scared.
