      Pros

      The sky's the limit if you're willing to put in the work and produce clients. Success is recognized and awarded. But little tolerance for learning curves.

      Cons

      Clients stink. Some partners stink. Treat BDO as second class citizens in comparison to Big 4. No respect. Partners too greedy, penny wise and pound foolish. Do not take care of best employees, only favorite employees. Short term thinkers. ZERO planning and vision for future. Pay for upper levels is a joke in comparison to all the required hours.

      Pros

      Client size runs from the sublime to the ridiculous mostly a middle market client base the New York Office is dominated by 2 successful specialized industry groups but the general audit group is in turmoil

      Cons

      Management is dominated by out of touch old time accountants who have yet to realize the world has changed they stress quality of life as they cut the staff to the bone and overwork those that remain.

      Shady Leaders, Firm Lacks Integrity

      Pros

      I served in a business development role. I met and worked closely with the most senior audit and operations leaders at the firm. They regularly found ways to steal C-suite and referral relationships from the business development professionals, while under paying them or refusing legitimate commissions. I also saw them lie to bankers or referral sources when it suited them.

      Cons

      Greedy CEO and COO who are unethical leaders who lack integrity and represent the greed and selfish toxic sense of arrogant entitlement there is in business world. The tax and consulting leaders were better, but the toxic audit leaders from S. Africa run the ship at BDO. As a result, a lot of BDO personnel are resigning and leaving the firm, which is affecting client service. This ship is sinking. Steer clear!
