Pros

This is the deal: are you desperate for an online job and you have little to no experience? Great. Go to BairesDev and try to stay there for a year. Then run, my friend. Run like hell. Pros: - They will hire people with little or no experience in talent acquisition - Good way to get your foot in the door - You will learn the basics quickly - Some of the people who work there are absolutely amazing - Fully remote job - If you're lucky and get a decent boss, it can have flexible hours and you will be able to travel while working (if that's something you're into)

Cons

- They have no career path, no desire to retain talent. At BairesDev, you are nothing but disposable, cheap labor. They have zero respect for you. I don't expect companies to actually care about me but I think a minimum amount of respect is necessary. - They will work you to the bone. I'm not kidding. BairesDev is a company where you will constantly feel like you are behind, like you have no idea what you're doing, like you're doing everything wrong. They give you impossible tasks and they don't give you enough time to do them. It's basically built to make you feel like crap while sucking the life out of you. If you're lucky, your manager will help you. If you're not, he/she will tell you to find the answers to your questions on Confluence. - They will change your metrics and KPIs ** retroactively** Yes, this means that two days before payday your lead will tell you that you're not getting your bonus bc they changed the goals FOR TWO MONTHS AGO to whatever. - They hide behind the "dynamic, constantly changing environment" thing, which actually means "we have no idea what we are doing" and "we will change EVERYTHING all the TIME and every time we do, it will mean more work for you." - They have a desktop app that will track your activity. If you're engrossed in a video meeting and forget to move your mouse, you WILL have to work overtime to make up for that. You will be constantly worried about that damn mouse. While you're drinking water. While you're in the bathroom. - You won't really have time to go to bathroom or drink water - They don't care about results. They care about numbers. If you interview 1000 people, it makes them look good. They don't care if those people are a fit or not. You will constantly feel like you are wasting your time. ... and much, much more.

Pros

Work from home option, salary in USD

Cons

The HR and the management is not trustworthy - before joining I had clarified from the HR about my job security and asked that if their recruitment efforts in India do not become fruitful then what will be their plan of action - the HR said that in that case, they will absorb me in the company at their HQ in Argentina. However, one fine day, while working my Manager calls me & says that they are closing India project due to cost constrain and that I will be relieved in 15-days. I thank my husband who at the time of joining had guided me to get the 15-days notice period increased to 3--days, but my Manager did not even know this, thus there was no communication b/w the HR and the Manager on the terms of hiring. Additionally, I would further add that the company never had good intentions because even after 1 month of relieving, I used to receive calls from candidates saying that they were offered a job by the company, while they were in the shortlisting phase when I was in talks with them - it was sort of that they created a pool a candidate from India with my help, and when their quota was met, they removed me from the equation without giving a 2nd thought that they are ruining someone's career. In short, if you're being offered a work-from-home option, then please don't join this company at all as they will leave you hanging after 6-months. I had a decent job in a big MNC in Gurgaon, and went with this company only because of WFH option, but the company backstabbed me & did not fulfill their promise.

Pros

Remote work. They'll hire anyone if you're good at tests and are willing to accept crappy pay. The programmers seem pretty happy here, probably because they're working for the clients and not the actual management of this company.

Cons

I was told to outright discriminate against candidates - they don't like people who are older, or those who are Indian American (even if you're second generation American and have no accent - I literally saw a great candidate get rejected for his name/ the color of his skin!) It's one of those jobs where you feel like you need to shower at the end of the day because you feel so gross. Staff is mainly young and inexperienced - they make you pass a series of math tests to get a job, but they don't really care about your actual skills or experience. Metrics are a joke - they literally want you interviewing unqualified people just to say you did X amount of interviews per week. They don't want you to do any real screening at all - only test scores. It's terrible to be a recruiter and KNOW you have no job openings for someone, but you have to interview them anyway because they passed the test. You're not allowed to be honest with candidates at all. You follow a script and nothing more. It's basically a telemarketing job. Recruiting isn't even under HR, it's under Operations - so they don't care about compliance, risk, or legal issues. They force you to ask questions that are illegal in the US because they have absolutely no idea what they're doing. I literally felt like I was doing busy work every day. It's not a sustainable recruiting model, and that's why 90% of the staff just sits around figuring out ways to fool productivity software and metrics, while griping about how horrible the job is to their coworkers on Skype.
