Pros

I was with Barracuda Network for about 4 years and thoroughly enjoyed my time with the company. Unfortunately, my husband got orders to D.C. so I had to leave. When my husband first got orders to the Bay Area, I looked to get out of retail and into a technical field so I attended Heald college for the Network Security program. A rep from Barracuda came to the school seeking new employees and I got selected for an interview. I was glad to get a job straight out of school and a place that allowed me to grow. In the nearly 4 years that I was there, I made it to Tier IIC and was going to test for Tier III before we got new orders. I haven't found a job yet in D.C. but I hope to find a place like BN.

Cons

I wish there was an office in the D.C. area that I could have transferred to. It is too bad that there are only stateside support offices in MI and CA.

Pros

I have been with Barracuda Networks for about 6 months and I am so far enjoying it. I started as a Web Filter technician and I am now supporting Flex too. A highlight of the Pros can be found below: 1. The initial training program was really good. They provided about two weeks of training: the first week was instructor and hands on assignments, and the second week was hands on with customers while another technician worked with me. 2. They provide on-going training bi-weekly for every product, and even if you miss the training, they make the recordings available. 3. I got promoted in my first 4 months and I expect to test for Tier IC in two months. 4. The people that I work with are hella cool, smart, and willing to help. 5. Management is fair and will treat you well. They have high expectations but as long as you meet those expectations, they will take care of you. 6. Free lunch and dinner. It is catered and yummy! 7. The work life balance is good. I don't have to work overtime and I am never on call. In my last job, I was on call twice per week and one weekend per month. 8. There are fun activities. I even won a free weekend ski trip. The only thing that could have made that better would be if they gave me gambling and beer money to spend (i.e. ALL EXPENSES PAID). But I can't complain too much because it was fun to get to know my co-workers after only two months.

Cons

So far, this has been a great experience for me, but I do have a few cons: 1) The parking is a pain. Thankfully, there is a parking program that pays you $330 to park across the street. I have to play frogger going across Winchester but the extra $1200+ per year is nice! BTW, there is a cross walk but I don't feel like walking the extra two blocks to use it. If you don't want the bonus, you can park in the regular parking lot. We are also supposed to move to a new building soon, so they tell us there will be plenty of parking in the new office. 2) This office can get a bit noisy some times. Sales is constantly ringing the bell when an Enterprise sale goes through. I think it frustrates customers sometimes.

Pros

Training in: - Linux - Different network protocols and routing methods - Disaster recovery methods - Secure network access - Web security I'd started out as a T1a, and now I'm a manager in support. I was able to use my time to learn as much as I could to work my way up to my current position. I'm not saying is was an easy path, but it has paid off in the end.

Cons

There is not much to complain about that is outside the industry norms for what every company I've worked at in my last 14 years of experiences.
