Pros

Work life balance was generally good, there are pockets of expertise through acquisitions (such as supply chain consulting) and the brand is good in Europe (although not well known or competitive in UK).

Cons

The UK practice is not well known or competitive in the market, lacks true thought leaders and has huge cultural issues. Main issues: - the firm struggles to recruit top talent and many of the best people leave after 1-2 years, resulting in poor quality senior management who can't effectively manage engagements or people (interestingly there is a team photo on the recruitment website where a majority of people have already left the company!) - BearingPoint's lack of market competitiveness means they don't tend to win the most interesting or innovative projects. I spent my entire time at the firm (along with about 20-30% of the practice) seconded to an engineering client performing dull PMO type activities. Some areas of the firm (such as supply chain consulting) appeared to be better although if you are assigned to "Digital & Strategy" or "Technology" there is no strategy or brand recognition in these areas. - the firm's culture is highly toxic with particular cliques/favourites who progress if they align with the leadership's persona and feed their ego. There is a lack of transparency and constructive feedback, for example you could be held back from promotion if you did something a leader didn't like or challenge the status quo, without actually receiving any feedback until after the performance cycle. HR will actively fight against you too and ignore any complaints about leadership.

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry to see you didn’t have a good experience working with us. As part of the GROW region, BearingPoint UK is focused on growing the practice and building the brand in the UK. We have a strong commitment to our clients and to our people, and as a company we look to not only build the brand but to leave a lasting impact – for our clients, our people, and the planet. Our size means that naturally we won’t have the same level of awareness as some of the bigger consulting firms, but what we pride ourselves on is being known in target areas for our expertise, and having excellent – and long lasting – client relationships. Regarding our culture, it is difficult to understand your perspective. We conduct regular and consistent surveys with our people, and over the last number of years we have seen the satisfaction score and feedback in our staff surveys improve year on year. In particular, the feedback from exit interviews is very positive and specifically in relation to our culture. From a recruitment perspective, we have grown the business significantly over the last 3 years and we have ambitious growth plans for the years ahead. Our retention is above industry standards, with the lowest staff turnover rate seen last year than at any time previously. Addressing your point on promotion and career advancement, we have a very transparent Development Management programme focused on helping all our people to reach their potential. The programme includes feedback meetings every 8 weeks with the Development and Engagement Manager and career development is proactively discussed at these meetings. Where an individual isn’t ready for promotion, support and clear guidelines on what needs to be done to be promoted are provided to help the individual to achieve their goals. We have an open door/open call policy and we very much encourage staff to raise any concerns either with a member of the leadership team or HR and such matters are always addressed as a priority. Any issues raised are not left unresolved. We are sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy your time with the company and it is not reflective of the feedback we receive from our people.

Pros

Salary is satisfactory but it is not worth it compared to the workflow

Cons

Management is underprepared and could not care less that a job meant for a team of 20 people(including testers dev ops and devellopers) is done by 2 part time interns and 2 junior software engineers that have been hired as a bigger level to account for what is going wrong. The project we are working on is 20 % done at the time of the release because the management did not want to hire more empoyees. THis place made me reconsider my chocices of becoming an engineer.

You refer to a different company, namely BearingPoint Inc. Our company, BearingPoint headquartered in Europe, has been a separate legal entity and conducted a management buyout in 2009. Our development since then is very positive. See our Annual Report: https://www.bearingpoint.com/en-ie/about-us/annual-report/
