Out of touch

Pros

Nice office location in the city (pity you're never there), acceptable brand in France and Germany, good laptops and iPhones.

Cons

BearingPoint is completely out of touch with the rest of the industry. The work-life balance is terrible - with managers expecting you to spend years on end stuck in the north of England working on dull projects. Little choice in projects and direction of travel within the firm - more of a get what you're given culture. Training and development opportunities are very few. Worst is the salary which is significantly below market average. They try and pay everyone within a grade equally which means high performers are paid the same as under achievers. The band averages are also very poor - at least £10k below the rest of the market.

We’re sorry to hear that your experience of working with us hasn’t been to the high standard it’s so important to us to maintain. We strongly encourage staff to raise any issues with their manager or HR so they can be resolved as soon they emerge. It’s critical that we continue to be the best employer we can so your comments and feedback are gratefully received. To remain competitive in the market we review compensation benchmarks and we conduct salary reviews on an annual basis, giving every employee opportunities for promotions, salary increases andbonuses. There is a salary band for each level and staff progress through the bands until they reach the next level. BearingPoint offers a wide array of learning opportunities at each level to support career and personal development so our people can fulfill their potential. Our L&D curriculum provides an extensive range of training courses starting with ‘BearingPoint School’ for new joiners. We deliver best-in-class instructor-led training with leading UK training companies as well as our unique partnership with Yale School of Management which provides a world-class innovative leadership experience, exclusively for BearingPoint staff. There are many other personal development courses as well as solution/technical and online courses on the curriculum. While the nature of consulting requires working on client site, where possible we try to accommodate location preferences. However, there are occasions where it is not possible for us to do this due to client requirements to be on site. We do take work-life balance concerns seriously and encourage staff to discuss any problems with their manager in order for us to work together to resolve this. We are continuously focused on enhancing the employee experience and we appreciate your feedback as we want to always ensure we meet our employees’ highest expectations.
