Average company to work for

Pros

quite varied projects, colleagues generally friendly and ambitious, management accessible, depending on manager and partner you get great projects and teams and a good consulting experience so make sure to get along very well with them before you start.

Cons

projects often very operational, you feel more like a temp at the client than a consultant. Career prospects vary widely with partner and manager (no consistency). Pay is below average and bonus calculation can be opaque. Managers often busy advancing their own career and using consultants to make that happen which impairs your own career.

Thanks for your review and we are glad to hear you enjoyed the varied projects, our culture and feel that you got a good consulting experience whilst working for BearingPoint. To remain competitive in the market we regularly review compensation benchmarks to ensure our salaries are competitive and salary reviews are conducted on an annual basis, giving every employee opportunities for promotions, salary increases and bonuses. We take career development seriously and offer a wide array of learning opportunities at each level to support career and personal development so our people can fulfill their potential. Our L&D curriculum provides an extensive range of training courses starting with ‘BearingPoint School’ for new joiners. We deliver best-in-class instructor-led training with leading UK training companies as well as our unique partnership with Yale School of Management which provides a world-class innovative leadership experience, exclusively for BearingPoint staff. There are many other personal development courses as well as solution/technical and online options on the curriculum available to all staff. We align project opportunities as closely as possible to capability and career ambitions, but naturally, there are occasions (usually short periods) when it is not possible to accommodate all preferences in order to deliver what our clients need. Where staff have concerns, we encourage them to discuss any such issues with their manager or HR so that we address such concerns as soon as possible. We are committed to continual improvement of our employee’s experience and appreciate the time you took to provide your review here.
