Pros

BearingPoint UK office has a close network of colleagues. You will benefit and learn from early exposure to Partners/clients. There are some key projects and some really clever and great people still work there.

Cons

BearingPoint, good name (prior to bankruptcy last year) but now on a downward trend with pipeline thinning and good people running for cover. The company has moved from a US headquartered firm to pan European partnership. A lot was made of the fact the company struggled with the lack of leadership from the US but things havent changed much and the company really has lost some of its identity with the US firm being sold to Deloitte/PwC. I see tough times ahead and it is certainly a challenge to win work at a firm which has gone through major restructuring and bankruptcy. There are some really good people there in certain areas and if you can get onto some of the key projects you will learn considerably from the good people aronud you but overall the firm is practically top heavy and is not selling enough work. There isnt enough opportunity for Senior Cons to do managerial consulting and training isnt seen as a priority. Every year they churn out a new strategy on how to take the company forward but things never really change. Promotions have been made reactively to prevent good people leaving and on the whole doesnt seem merit based.

Pros

Camaraderie with coworkers. Good project work. Interesting and exciting clients. Got to travel the world on the companies dime. If your Managing Director was good, this was a very good place to work.

Cons

Many cons. How about atrocious senior management. No consideration for work or life balance (what can you expect, its consulting). In 8 years only received one bonus. Its now bankrupt, 'nuff said.

Pros

Like all consulting firms, BearingPoint offered fantastic experience to interact with many different clients. I worked for 15-20 Fortune 500 clients during my 4 years at BearingPoint.

Cons

BearingPoint unfortunately struggled with poor management communication as it worked through multiple CEOs, internal reorgs, etc. At times you worked very long hours and were under high stress conditions. The nonstop travel definitely got a little tedious at times.
