Pros

BearingPoint is a very entrepreneurial place to work. If you are someone who thrives in an autonomous environment and hates to be micromanaged, then you will enjoy working at BearingPoint. As a project lead, I have been empowered by my project manager to lead my track as I see fit as long as it accomplishes the goals of the project. Traveling is big plus with BearingPoint since they still pay out the US CONUS PerDiem rates, so if you are cheap (like me) and can eat on $20/day, you can easily pull in an extra $400-500/month in discretionary income from traveling.

Cons

If you are someone that requires a lot of structure, it will drive you nuts. Most managers I have worked with are not very hands-on and rely more on your initiative than on their own management. I highly encourage you to use this as an opportunity to expand your skillset and take initiative. You will have more opportunities to meet with clients, the downside is that you may not feel as comfortable since often times you are thrown into situations you have not necessarily been prepared for ahead of time. My advice is to stay away from negativity, there is a lot of it and if you work at BearingPoint you don't need anymore of it.

Pros

-Low barrier to entry -Good place to start a career (or to end one) From the people I've met, the public services sector (working with the government) appears to be pretty easy to get into, especially if you've ever worked for the government or served in the military. This can make it an attractive place to start if you're straight out of college, or straight out of the military.

Cons

-Deteriorating reputation -Lack of company culture -General instability There seems to be a propensity of younger resources (cheap labor) and older resources (people who peaked long ago and have nowhere better to go), but there seem to be fewer people in the middle range (27-35 year olds).
