Pros

The people are really what is keeping BE together. Management does respect and understand the work / life balance.

Cons

No communication from practice leads or management. Because of the slash and burn policy of Harbach earlier in the year to return to profitability, it is very difficult to be transferred from a crappy client. Over half of the consultants on projects are independents that had to be hired since all the BE consultants were let go. No loyality from them. Makes one wonder why everyone just doesn't become independent and then charge a premium to BE to allow them to use you.

Pros

BearingPoint serves as a good foundation for Gov't consulting experience. You will find that you have the opportunity to interact with a handful of prominent gov't agencies while working w/n the Public Services sector. BE is a great stepping stone for other consulting opportunities and they welcome you those who jump back and forth from other companies.

Cons

Pay/bonuses are not up to industry standard. Despite being a top performer, I have noticed that raises and bonuses are quite stingy and are not reflective of one's performance.

Pros

Bearingpoint seems to pay well in comparison to the industry and you can live in many locations and still work for them. You can move up fast within the company if you are willing to put in the extra hours. BearingPoint's consultants are well respected in the industry because they are experienced and professional.

Cons

Management can be very misleading with how they communicate company info. They company is having trouble with it's stock price and has had to have layoffs recently. Professional growth opportunities are very limited, if you are good at one thing, you are often forced to continue to do that and not encouraged to develop new skills.
