Pros

Great people to work. Great brand name clients

Cons

No clear path for the company. THe company struggles with its go-to market model. The sales are done by sales folks, who have difficult time knowing all solutions that a client may need. Hence, some of the best solutions are not marketed well and the marketplace does not know about them. Industry and solutions were not working together as well as they could.

Pros

Good opportunity to build a practice and advance a career. Public Sector is a great practice to work in due to senior mgmt. The vacation is the highest I've ever worked with (5 weeks) to the extent that it's difficult to use all the available time off I have. Senior Leadership gives you the freedom to build out a solution and build a practice (if you're capable enough).

Cons

Poor stock performance, low 401k match, no tuition reimbursement. While the pay, vacation and healthcare are good, extremely low 401k match (1.5%) and $0 tuition reimbursement are rather bad. This may not be important to recent college graduates, but becomes more important the longer you work with the company.

Pros

Best part of BearingPoint was the people. I've made more lifelong friends there than all other of my employers combined. In addition, management seems to promote a strong work-life balance.

Cons

Management tends to separate junior staff from the client on client site. As a senior management analyst, I attended very few meeting involving the client. I usually received tasks second hand from my manager rather than hearing it directly from the client. This unfortunately caused unnecessary work for everyone when delivering a product. BearingPoint also tends to take performance and business development in consideration more than actual management skills when it comes to promotions.
