Pros

Solid income, I made GREAT money, but I had been there well over a decade so I was pretty much maxed out. Great people to work with, and most customers were actually pretty fun to help.

Cons

1. No one really cares about you. 2. You will never get ANY support in regards to a crazy angry customer. Just give in to the customer regardless how crazy they are because if it goes above you, senior leadership will fold. 3. You will be responsible for about 200 different scorecards or metrics. No exaggeration. 4. Your schedule will suck the life out of you. You will work most weekends and almost every holiday. 3-4 days per week you will get off of work no sooner than 8pm. You will be scheduled for 50 hours per week, 60 hours per week during the holiday season and any other time 'as needed'. There will be no comp time for the extra days. You can be fired for pretty much any reason at any time with no severance pay. They have a reorg about every two years. Your GM will either make or break your job. If you get a great one, don't expect them to stay in position very long, and lord only knows what your next GM will bring. We once had 5 different GM's work in our store in 3 years. They very much care about hourly employee turnover and don't care at all about salaried manager turnover.

Pros

Can get a lot of hours if you're willing to work when they need you especially weekends, holidays, and on your days off

Cons

Schedule changes without warning and can impede on your plans if you haven't been alerted to the schedule change by management

Pros

- slight discount - other then management co-workers are nice and hard working (when actually given jobs to do) - next to Loblaws, so easy lunch

Cons

I was hired there after they changed to BestBuy from Futureshop, this was a good move since, I know everyone hated Futureshop they were pushy and almost rude. yet right after they hired me they decided they didnt want to train me, or any other new people they hired, and brought back alot of people from old Futureshop stores that closed down, downtown. so they let me go after my probation. So why did they hire me? im assuming it was for some sort of tax breaks or something. - not a single day of training, they just assume you know how to navigate the store and the computers - most days there is nothing to do (again, I dont know why they hired me) a lot of the time they had me wipe down shelves, which is fine i dont mind cleaning, but when im literally cleaning the same thing every day because there is no product to work, it kills your moral very very fast - nobody is there because they like it, every single person i met was moving on to somthing better, because best buy could not provide what they needed to live. even my direct supervisor had a small pet business on the side because she could not support herself and her child. - if you think your getting full time, think again.
