Pros

Employee Discounts – Employees get great discounts on electronics and other products, which can be a huge perk. Flexible Scheduling – Good for students or those with other commitments, as shifts can be adjusted. Opportunities for Growth – Potential for promotions and movement within the company, especially into management roles. Team Environment – A fun and supportive work culture where employees often work together closely. Learning Experience – Exposure to the latest tech and the ability to gain valuable customer service and sales skills.

Cons

Retail Hours – Working nights, weekends, and holidays is common, which can be inconvenient. Sales Pressure – Some roles have sales targets, which can be stressful if you’re not comfortable with upselling. Physically Demanding – Standing for long hours and stocking heavy items can be tiring. Customer Challenges – Dealing with difficult customers, complaints, or returns can be frustrating. Pay Could Be Better – While competitive for retail, some employees feel wages could be higher, especially for non-commissioned roles.

Pros

Decent-ish pay, largely creating orders and managing future clients utilizing the Symphony CRM. Apparently bringing back commission or a bonus structure back? You get to meet a lot of interesting people if you are personable in this role.

Cons

If you get my job title you will be thrown into this with little to no training. They often just throw core sales advisors with no knowledge of appliance and home theater at this job role and hope for the best. Additionally you will be training new associates, as BestBuy is a revolving door for new and former employees. After that you will also be completing tasks that go far beyond your job description which are then added to your job responsibilities if you pick up the slack rather than the people who have positions for that role who should have actually taken care of the tasks you handled out of courtesy. The main issue with almost any Best Buy is that the management plays a very political game to promote people. I get it, every single place is like this but the toxicity of it is insane. As soon as your GM feels pressure they begin to pick favorites and pick who to blame for every issue in their store when they themselves are the problem. Lastly, if you take this job you will not be properly considered for any management role as you are "indispensable" as a sales consultant which they do not disclose to you until after you take the job.
