Cons

Slow boring at times repetive pay is not that good. People use Best Buy as a temp job so people working there tend to change over time uniform is old fashion.

Pros

Great discount on proprietary Best Buy products, Insignia, Rocketfish, etc. etc. Fairly relaxed group of coworkers and supervisors.

Cons

No faith in inventory system, lackluster training, not commission but sales are tracked and you're still pressured to meet a quota, somehow. Lackluster equipment supply, namely price scan guns, only 2 in whole store with only one spare battery. No respect for requests off, at all. Closing means you stay until the store is closed, not until you are scheduled, so if you say you can work until 10, and the store closes at 9:30, especially during the holidays, expect to be there until midnight. Serious disconnect between lower management and staff, very clique-y in that regard.

Pros

Discount was decent. The paid but useless meetings were a nice break from hassling ignorant customers.

Cons

I received no useful product knowledge, just did little computer slideshows on poorly working Imacs. There is a very complicated "not on commission, might as well be" numbers game in which you could sell something expensive and not have it matter to your insane quotas. As a result of this, my coworkers were cutthroat and unhelpful and barely showed me anything. I had an attitude anybody who set foot in the store should be helped which I was mocked for. My manager took over a department in which he knew nothing about the product. I observed department managers pushing insane add-ons to people who didn't need them. It was clear that management had contempt for most customers. Security guys were rude and bullyish. Breakroom had mostly inoperable snack/soda machines
