Great company with the opportunity to make an impact

Pros

- opportunity to make an impact and grow on a professional level - dynamic work environment (cross functional teams) - great team from all over the globe - nice company benefits (lunch & gym discount, soccer, fresh fruits, ...) - flexible work arrangements - transparent communication from C-Level

Cons

- few smaller hickups due to the enormous growth e.g. teams moving physically from one area to the other several times because of new employees starting and the lack of a bigger office plan. Although management says this is currently being worked on.

Daily stress and with bad management that can't handle critics

Pros

The people are supporting each other and most of them are open minded Perspective if they achieve all the cons (long way to go for this) Good if you come abroad, they like to hire from Eastern Europe (Romania, Slovakia, Russia...)

Cons

Management and "buddies" of C-level are the elite, can't complain on them without being marked. Communication between departments is bad. Micromanagement from PM was so tight that in some departments, it made most of days unbearable due asking same question every 15 minutes and proving every work minute. Management worked solely on just to give the CEO's whatever they want whenever they want, if they change their minds it goes immediate reorganization etc. Overhead work, people under stress, only reaction if people start leaving. Few weeks back many toxic work environment questions appeared on a biweekly meeting, resulting CEO canceling the questionnaires.

We take your feedback seriously and are having discussions internally about how we can improve in the areas you have pointed out. The questionnaire you mentioned was set in place to give all the team members an opportunity to share their thoughts and it was not canceled, it had a deadline from the beginning and management selected some of the points to discuss how we want to work on them in the future. As you may know, we have recently set an extensive feedback program into place in order to hear everyone%E2%80%99s comments and set ourselves improvement goals for the future. We did this because we believe that our team has great inputs and that only together we can make Bitpanda a great place to work. In addition, we are working on improving the overall strategy and the entire leadership level is participating in regular workshops to improve the service for their employees. Pros

I have had a positive experience with the hiring process in Vienna, Austria. The HR team always prioritized the communication and updates, even when my applications were refused (several times). Nevertheless, the professional approach is their highest quality. There have been clear instructions to the interview, very kind approach during the interview and highly reactive in terms of feedback. Very impressed!

Cons

None so far. As mentioned, highly professional and straight forward.

Pros

Good company to have on your resume if early in your career. Solid tech stack & mostly friendly young coworkers. Great reputation if you’re passionate about investing/blockchain.

Cons

Zero career progression. Most mid-senior level positions are filled by external hires regardless of your performance. Many departments are very dysfunctional & suffer from high employee turnover, poor communication, and overly corporate/hierarchical processes. Salaries & benefits are not competitive for the industry and company size. Not very flexible with remote work or relocation despite having multiple hubs/offices. Vienna office lost its appeal due to extreme covid restrictions.

As you mentioned, we are very proud of our reputation as we turn the world of investment upside down — led by the best of the best: our Pandas! At Bitpanda, it is a top priority that our team members are rewarded for their impact and have the chance to develop. We believe that our salaries are competitive in the current market and are dedicated to everyone having the opportunity to create their own path. Recently we hired a rewards leader who is evaluating our compensation/benefits across the business and they will keep them competitive as we scale at an astonishing rate (600+ and counting). This month our teams will receive invitations for impact conversations with their manager to kick off the New Year. We also really miss seeing our Pandas in their “natural environment,” and we know how important it is to be flexible. That’s why we’ve removed traditional core working hours and introduced a new Hybrid Working model. This gives our team members the flexibility to split their time equally between their home and local talent hub. Unfortunately, though, we can’t control the COVID situation, and we are dedicated to keeping everyone safe and healthy at Bitpanda!
