Pros

Good working hours, deadline is usually soft.

Cons

Slow and not really innovative. Your performance is dominated by your manager's review, not objective metrics.

Pros

There’s lots of resources to do ambitious, multimedia work. There’s a team of data journalists, photographers and graphic designers to help bring your stories to life. Depending on your team and beat, you can get the time to do ambitious enterprise stories. I like the collaboration that is encouraged in the newsroom

Cons

Navigating the bureaucracy is difficult. Having political capital is necessary to be successful. The newsroom gets overhauled every two or so years. Some reporters can be really cutthroat and competitive.
