The rule of the jungle

Pros

BCG pays well but it lost all credibility with how they have been getting rid of consultants. It is worthless to earn 190K+ if you don't have job security.

Cons

A lot of pressure and stress. The money is not worth it, mostly now that your job is not even secure. There is no culture or incentives to help people succeed - the rule of the jungle: everyone trying to protect their interests, no collaboration, no support to help people succeed.

Pros

Great benefits, insurance is paid 100% for you and your family. I made great friends and long lasting friendships. The majority of the EA/AA team are eager to help. Very collaborative environment within the EA/AAs. You will work with some of the smartest people in the planet, you will learn many different aspects of the consulting world and it is fascinating.

Cons

Management is the worst I've experienced in my many years of experience. Company culture is more important to them and the job you do and who you support, meaning: if you dont go to happy hours, attend internal events, add more workload for fun, then you are not trying hard enough to earn a promotion. I've never been in such a toxi place. There is no work/life balance, again - there is no work/life balance. You will work long hours, expected to be available after hours, but will be told not to add overtime because you should do your job in the allocate time. This place affected my mental health in ways I never imagined. The new RTO policy is pushing many fantastic employees out the door, as management is going towards office is better than remote now, so you are required to be in office x amount of days, and parking is not included.

Pros

Compensation, benefits, the great majority of the people are nice and willing to help, meaningful work, meaningful relationships with coworkers

Cons

-Long hours (but expected) -The Miami office is unfortunately run by an indian gang. They are protected and seem to be untouchable, some of them thinking of themselves as superiors (this doesn't apply to every Indian person; just the few that are involved in this scheme) - You oftentimes must put on a fake act so that you will be seen as favorable to the "feds" inside the office. - Your experience will completely depend on your project and your leaders. You can have great leaders that make a project enjoyable or a more difficult project bearable, or you can have horrible leaders that will make any project you are in unbearable. - Team and case reviews are often biased and inaccurate, as your team leaders, if bad leaders, will practically force you to answer positively through small indirect acts of intimidation. Even though these are anonymous, teams are compromised sometimes of 2 or 3 members, so they will more than likely know who is responding to what.
