Pros

You get to work with very intelligent and talented people across different industries and if you want to, across different geographic areas. Exposure to senior management at large local and international clients with sometimes very challenging yet satisfying discussions. High tempo and a steep learning curve, especially on how to manage and prioritise tasks.

Cons

Poor work-life balance, but most likely an effect of the generaly long working hours in Spain and as a consultant you always stay longer in the office than the client. Very little continuity and possibility to see the result of your work, as you normally get shifted into a different project before the client starts implementing your solutions. Sometimes also very frustrating from a staffing perspective, as you rarely get staffed well ahead of a project starting.

Pros

Medical Insurance & two days work from home is the only con I saw in this job.

Cons

Welcome to toxicity if you're a part of this team. No appraisal, excruciating workload. No acknowledgment of the work they make you do on weekends. Very rare that you're not working till 8-9pm, you have to be 24/7 available. Excessive participation expected above your core job, when the core job itself is so demanding. The 3 managers & the head of function should have been politicians, they play bad to make themselves look good infront of leadership. No one likes them, people are just good to them on their faces. They would even steep down to a level by asking people to vote for them. Highly underpaid job.

Pros

At entry and Senior levels, you can get great project diversity and expand your technical skills and industry experience. The work is fast paced and interesting. Coworkers are super smart and professional. Benefits and perks are second to none, especially if you like to travel. Compared to other companies, the performance review process and career ladder is extremely structured and transparent. If you leave voluntarily or involuntarily, you keep your pay and salary for several months (exact time depends on tenure) while you find a new job, and the job opportunities are generally much better than before coming to BCG because major employers value the experience a lot.

Cons

Hours can be long and unpredictable. The intense feedback culture takes some getting used to - people can be very blunt about what you need to work on, so you need to have thick skin and desire to improve your weaknesses. On some projects, the travel becomes tiring. As you move up, there is increasing pressure to specialize and move into management with support from a “pyramid” (a group of partners and their young wannabes who work on projects together) otherwise you are asked to leave.
