Pros

Staff Travel - 90% of ticket price + tax for standby ticket. Essentially means you can fly if theseat would otherwise be empty. Popular destinations during school holidays therefore a big no-no. Colleauges - bit hit and miss. Some departments really nice, although others have serious bullying issues that Senior management will not tackle. Nice offices - restaurant food is good (and subsidised), average gym (also subsidised), starbucks, Waitrose and Duty free shop on site.

Cons

Managers have a lot of individual power - get a bad one and you'll suffer. A lot. Pay not great for new starters as company tries to balacne out older staff on civil service contracts by paying 20-30% below industry standard. Don't really getthe feeling that Senior Management values staff. Often feels as though the company is trying to get one over on us rather than rewarding people for the hardwork and long hours they demand.

Pros

Flight benefits means you can fly alot cheaper than if you did not work there, but they are still not free. Good health benefits including dental, vision ,physiotherapy, etc. Working within an airport environment can be fun depending on your own perspective.

Cons

Supervisors are not well paid at all and quite often donot get things done as they are paying attention to their personal lives too much (just like the staff they supervise!) They hire very young people who have no life experiences and don't want to work (spoiled brats). The company is always sharpening their pencils, looking for the "cheap way".You have to fight (with the union supporting you) for any small pay increase. They say the most important thing to them is safety and security ,yet they are grossly understaffed, compromising the safety and security of their operation.
