Pros

* Great Brand.. Great technological company in US * If the employee is part of hyderabad networking software group, great chance to learn how to play politics in a company * Networking software group at hyderabad teaches how a services company kind of environment can be created in a technological company. Great case study for B-School

Cons

* Hyderabad networking software group is operated by a set of people who create a kind of mafia atmosphere. They exploit broadcom and can go to any extent to save their jobs. * There are a set of people at Broadcom Hyderabad who influence their counterpart US(NC) management through drink parties etc at local star hotel(westin) and get promotions. So, performance is not a criteria at Broadcom Networking Software division at Hyderabad * If some one really would like to step up and do something for the company at Broadcom Hyderabad's networking software divison, bunch of people mentioned above will be ready to demotivate such initiatives because of the insecurity of those people

Pros

Within Broadcom, there are pockets of great people that it is a privilege to work with. Often, their managers don't get it however or they doing the wrong thing, but this doesn't stand in the way of enjoying working with them.

Cons

The infinite holiday policy that stops you taking off over 2 weeks without managers approval (and some managers are idiots and stop this from happening). Majority of the engineers are either not worthy of being employed or worse, doing mischief instead of real work. Its clear that rivalries between teams is very unhealthy and you end up with countries such as India being 'at war' with other engineering teams for interesting work, reqs or other medals that the company gives out to people with the best strategies.

Pros

I worked as a contractor to Broadcom. They have some very nice benfits, but they have some very negative benifits;

Cons

Where do you work where a company hires a contractor and then after a few months decides they are no longer want them? Even if they got you good reviews for the time you were there? Is not the best experience.
