Long hours, having to work through holidays & weekends far too often due to over aggressive schedules, serious issues with work-life balance, too many cases where a project deemed critical is placed on the back burner at too late a stage due to poor planning.

Learning opportunities when you first arrive; stock option compensation package use to be lucrative; less process and seasoned professionals translates to getting more work done.

Cons

Too many alphas and too much beta work; career advancements pretty much equates to leaving the company to pursue other opportunities since professional development or group rotation don't exist for talent retention; typical big company cube farms with lip-service start-up attitude; engineering managers are a joke but easy to ignore; individual contributor really means just you and the internet; engineering teams are *VERY* cliquey.
