Pros

Money money money money money

Cons

Everything else. The culture is toxic. The people are toxic. The job is toxic. You are regularly forced to commit ethical violations or face the consequences (get laid off for non-performance). People have countdowns to the end of the quarter written on their whiteboards because that's how many days they need to survive without getting laid off to get a couple more RSUs vested. I have personally been on calls where people (upper management) scream and abuse others while everyone sits in silence. Bullying is encouraged. Don't work here. Why would you want to work here? For the money? I promise you, it isn't worth it. Run for the hills.

Pros

Love the company. Maturity has helped with the work/life balance. Good benefits package. Flexible working hours and work from home policy. Base pay with strong ESPP program helps.

Cons

Change from equity compensation to bonus comp is terrible. Equity use to be a significant contributor to overall comp. Now bonuses are given, which is less than 5% and not guaranteed! Top level management is overpaid. Look at the CEO. How the hell does he reap $20M in 2014 after failing to deliver on a multi-year, multi-billion dollar program. No accountability with previous failed acquisitions; the board is overpaid and weak to the whims of the E level execs. Too bad they drove this company into the hands of Hock Gecko, who will undoubtedly slice and dice the company and employees.

Pros

Stock payment plan, good bonuses (but these really come from Rally)

Cons

Broadcom thinks that remote work CANNOT be done and still make a company profitable. Newsflash: a large portion of employees (those with a medical exemption) have been working from home and we were even more profitable than projected. Broadcom is stuck in the 1960s where they think that onboarding someone isn't possible if you're remote. Another newsflash: we can't onboard anyone if we can't hire anyone, and no one wants to work in a place that forces you to risk being exposed to COVID just to meet their "badge-in quota" that they seem to have.
