Pros

Great pay, lots of developmental opportunities, high level of responsibility, can work autonomously and take ownership of your job and career

Cons

Lots of hours, lots of fire drills, no training program/sink or swim environment, highly political, high turnover, lots of approvals and process stalling makes it difficult to take action. Internal promotions are very difficult, but lateral transfers for development are encouraged.

Company is moving sideways

Pros

The work is usually challenging, and always very technical. Most people are smart and skilled. Personal relationships are good. Good pay and benefits.

Cons

Management seems more focused on saving money than making it. It has little appetite for risk and for doing new things. HR has introduced an endless list of soft-skill training, when people asked for training that will help them advance their careers. What engineers wanted was technical training, not training in how to handle cultural diversity... It looks like someone at the top is completely disconnected from the engineers. Work-life balance is non-existent. it's work-work.

Pros

The company provides a good work life balance and good work environment for it's employees. Employees usually get a lot of freedom to implement their ideas and thoughts. Not too much workplace politics and engineers are usually busy with projects to work on

Cons

Lacks good top leadership. Some decisions don't make sense like acquiring the LTE assets and then shutting down the unit within 9 months of it's acquisition. Seems like the unit was just bought to jack-up the stock price after it took a plunge.
