Some of the smartest people in the world! (From all over the world!) THIS IS WHERE SCIENCE HAPPENS TODAY! The ability to take part into humanity's advance in our understanding of the universe. The highest amount of Nobel prize winners per square meter. :D Many breakthrough inventions happened and are happening here. *Just down the hall from my office a World Wide Web was invented. :) Cafeteria is nice. Nice location. Salary is tax free. (and usually quite adequate)

Cons

People work very hard here and work/life balance is not good for everyone. People exceptionally smart, so the competition is very tough. In Geneva, every shop is closed after 7pm ... /: Politics.

- Lots of different cultures working together - Very good work/family balance - Freedom on how to do things - You are contributing to scientific advance and to the world´s knowledge

Cons

- Bad or non-existing software development procedures - Too much internal bureaucracy - Bad for career development: You must get a permanent position, and there are very few, with lots of political issues going under the cover. One you get it, you get a lifetime job whatever you do.

Cons

The contract policies and the possibilities for a conversion between limited duration and indefinite contracts is not really reasonable. It leads to loosing many bright employees...
