Pros

Some of the people are great, strong bonds form here due to all the trauma bonding. Private Health Insurance 10-15 calls a day per person on an average day. Low compared to some other places.

Cons

Classic exploitative workplace. The management is trying to solve the age old problems of the company with increasing the already big pressure on the staff with unachievable KPIs. The service desk is generally chaotic, the workload is not balanced evenly among team members but as long as the job is done the management doesn’t care that some people are over worked while others barely do anything. If you tell them you’re struggling they promise you everything then don’t even try to keep them. Loads of serious issues with SproutIT HR. They portray a false image, preaching about their amazing culture then anytime a problem comes up they try to solve it by having a go at the staff. On a team meeting HR was pressuring the management to publicly single out low performers which made everyone, including the management uncomfortable and they even told us we should be thankful we still have a job. When upper management is around however, they again show a completely different face. They have a tendency of lying about their own policies. They also have lack of knowledge of employment law (I will give them the benefit of doubt and not say they’re lying about that as well). The service desk is expected to use their mobile phone for work but they don't give you a work phone or compensate you in any way (other than the site analysts), the rest of the company however gets compensation. Ridiculously demanding clients, the number of calls are not too high but they can be very intense. It's a very stressful job in general. If you urgently need a job it’s good enough but for anything long term it’s better to go somewhere else.

Thank you for your review, I’m sorry to hear that your experience wasn’t a positive one. Firstly, I’d like to address the comment about workload on the service desk being unbalanced. This is exactly the problem we are trying to solve by introducing measurable KPIs, our aim here is to understand performance and capacity across our teams so we can ‘share the load’ more evenly. As we integrate three companies, we are introducing new systems and investing in business intelligence enable us to understand what is happening on the ground. Of course, this is no substitute for live feedback from our team members, so I will be delving into the data and feedback myself to investigate your comments as a matter of urgency. I am concerned about the HR issues you mention. Without further information I cannot investigate so I urge you to get in touch directly so I can better understand your comments. Once again, I appreciate the time taken to provide feedback, if you have anything further to add, you have my email address.

Pros

Fast paced environment where you can learn quickly and rise the ranks. Plenty of opportunity following recent acquisitions. New technology and people keep things fresh.

Cons

The business has heavy targets to achieve to maintain current growth so this can result in high workloads and fast paced environment which doesn't suit everybody.

Thank you for the great review. It’s brilliant to hear that CTS offers you plenty of opportunity to progress your career, that’s exactly the type of environment we set out to create. As you say, it is fast-paced and we try our best to provide support for our teams and run initiatives that reward our people for their achievements. You will be pleased to hear that we are currently working on our long-term hybrid working model with the aim of retaining flexibility where possible, we hope to finalise and test this over the coming months.

Pros

Nope, none at all. Not one.

Cons

CTS acquired Sprout IT and CBS IT last November and CBS in particular has gone downhill from day one. It used to be a good place to work with a great team ethic but the pressures applied since then have ruined it. Since the acquisition 9 of the 22 CBS staff have left or have resigned, which says it all really. Staff are leaving and not being replaced and the CTS response is to recruit more people in management positions, usually supposed experts in the integration process. Not much use when you need service desk and support staff. Customer complaints are at an unprecedented level but they don't seem to care, just blame the service desk and employ more middle managers who haven't got a clue what to do about the disaster that is unfolding. On top of the customer complaints staff morale is at rock bottom and management response was to order everyone back in to the office, against Government advice at the time. CTS have a stated aim to be on the Sunday Times "Best places to Work" list - can't see that happening any time soon.

Hello and thank you for your feedback. I am of course disappointed to hear that you were not satisfied with your experience at CTS. Whilst we do acknowledge that there has been some disruption to service in the early part of this year, we are committed to making positive changes and are listening to staff feedback to guide our decisions. Having recently analysed the results of our staff and client surveys, we are investing across the business in measures that will support CTS in delivering a quality service. We continue to backfill our front line service roles, but we do feel it is important to strengthen our management layers as we grow, recruiting experienced individuals to mature our processes and provide day-to-day support to our distributed teams. I would like to highlight that CTS has always operated in line with Government guidance on Covid restrictions, taking a considerate approach to personal circumstances and putting stringent safety measures in place to create a COVID-secure office space that facilitates our new hybrid working model. As you highlight, we aspire to be a leading employer and we are always keen to hear how we can improve. If you have any further feedback, please get in touch.
