Pros

- Great offices. The chefs are awesome - Having the Canva brand on your resume - Amazing colleagues

Cons

- Don't buy into the hype Canva generates for itself. They work hard to maintain a positive perception before they IPO but it's not reality. - Senior management is terrible, time poor and generally look out for themselves and their inner circle. - The company is constantly pivoting. All staff are pushed to the edge and most are close to burn out - The hiring process is absolutely ridiculous. Interesting experience but it will take up a lot of your time to prepare for and then go through the actual interview stages. - They underpay. If you're new to the workforce, know that you will get better pay elsewhere. - The experience you bring to the role is irrelevant. The founders and execs will provide a directive and strategy where additional input from the team is not considered - don't bother speaking up, you will be ignored.

Pros

A well known company that user like to use the software. So your work is seen, if that's important to you.

Cons

There is no tangible recognition for a good quality process, no structure to help you succeed in your role nor any support to get there in a chaotic and painfully adhoc delivery cycle. Read this as; no one can make any decisions by themselves and a company of 5000 is dictated to by 3 people. One of which openly brags "‘wartime’ approach to staff performance", how about an inch of sanity in Product development, team empowerment and a culture of quality and encouragement. Do not expect empowerment or autonomy in this environment and do not expect to be cared for. Unless you're a chop shop engineer and love to be told what and how to do it... repeatedly for the same feature. Walk away and keep your morals.
