Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on Glassdoor. Your advice to management has been captured and will be shared with the appropriate teams. We acknowledge, sometimes, everyone needs help and guidance in dealing with concerns and a negative state of well-being. We will always strive to support our employees in the best way. Our monthly employee survey allows employees to share feedback, anonymously and confidentially. Employees can reach out to their team leads, people manager or HRBP if the concern needs to be addressed more immediately. And we also offer SpeakUp, a web and phone-based ethics reporting, incident management and advisory tool, hosted by an independent service provider, if that is more fitting to ones needs. Our wellbeing hub offers resources for mental, physical, and financial well-being - along with easy access links to different levels of support.

Pros

They are very understanding of family issues. Hybrid work A decent starting point to get a clearance and into the government

Cons

Poor management of both work and workers. After 2 years, there is a high chance that they will let you go. Project sprint pacing is awful. Trend chasing company and work culture mindset

Pros

If you have no experience then capgemini is a place to get a foot in the door for the software industry.

Cons

Salary - average edging towards below average. Capgemini's pay rise policy for the past few years has been not to have any. With the enormous inflation in recent years their average rate of pay has started to suffer considerably and they are now far below competitive. Benefits - there are no company benefits to speak of. Any perks that balanced out the poor pay and working conditions are long gone. Expect to work in the office 2-3 days a week and for that figure to rise every year, because apparently its good for the environment if we all travel into work (that was an actual reason given for the return to office). HR and company practices - expect these to be disjointed and obstructive. Nothing in capgemini works or communicates with any other part so all announcements often contradict other announcements and they never listen to any feedback (despite being rabid about you filling it in, to the point of bullying) because either they don't care or they are completely powerless to do anything. Infrastructure - expect to be using outdated technology and practices wherever possible. Excel is king, and any attempt to stop its use will be met with derision and punishment from management. Java 8 is considered cutting edge here. Training - they like to say they provide training. In truth most of the course are internal and worthless. If you want to do any actual training then you need to submit a business case and a schedule for its completion and it had better be completed in 5 days, and if you deviate from the schedule for any reason or fail you can expect punishment. Obstructive practices are the norm at capgemini and will prevent you achieving anything of value. Work Life Balance - this varies. Management are so disjointed and incompetent that it is entirely possible you will be able to do nothing for several years if you are lucky. Unfortunately capgemini is entirely reactive in nature, and due to their total lack of investment in people or infrastructure, everything falls apart quite regularly and everything is top priority and must be completed immediately with hourly calls to determine progress. Overtime is expected during this management caused disasters, and remuneration is not forthcoming. Most work is menial and pointless, many times I have been asked to spellcheck a PowerPoint for another team, despite my protestations.
