Pros

You can get pluralsight subscription for your career path but you don't get time to actually work on something

Cons

Too many to list... (no seriously). HR/Mobility/Immigration teams are sooo useless people and they actually don't work at all. On top of that company policies change anytime and they can put those policies on you. Okay... not convinced? Say, you are in USA on Indian visa for 5 years continuously (as per USA tax term, you are already citizen and per India you are NRI), company can promote you and then give non-sense reasons saying you are not promoted in USA and you will get the new title when you will reach to India (after your assignment is over... which can be next 3-4 years). Yes, my client loves me and hence they are not able to send me back and hence I will not be able to see my new title till 3-4 years. Useless people who never work are sitting in HR. They separate you with the term "GX" resource (if you are coming from offshore) and put different policies on you than people joining in USA. Another main issue - they work in total silo. They even work in silo between themselves. Seriously? One HR will not know what policy other HR is mentioning and so on. Also have seen discrimination. So save yourself and join other company. This is not the place for actual talent. I am with this company for almost 9 years and just stuck with the company as my client wanted me in USA, they filed H1 and I could come here.

Pros

> The starting pay was reasonable but I had to negotiate hard for it. Moved from an "emerging" to a more exclusive (for the same rent, I rent a room in a very large house instead of getting a one bedroom in a "nice" complex) area, so I should have negotiated harder. They were really open. > Really liked the office by the airport. Most people were nice and others were a little standoffish at first. There's a gym, a deli, shuttle to ORD, lots of free lunches, and free soda and snacks. > Health insurance is very affordable and even the basic HD plan, combined with a fully funded HSA, is more than adequate > There's a lot of clients though the bureaucrats in charge of handling your work are reluctant to shop you around to other parts of the organization. This is especially so when you were brought in for one purpose. > There are some guided training material and your managers on the bench will make sure you have at least SOME direction > Basically get a month of vacation time but you are expected to somehow show up if the client is closed but CG isn't. Basically all of the policy here means nothing in a staff augmentation situation where CG has sold a fanny to a company.

Cons

> No 401k for first but can't say I blame them > Was moved in and out of Chicago in my first 6 months but felt that I dodged a bullet when a client wouldn't cooperate with my onboarding in hindsight. They should have let me stay where I was until my first day at "work" work. Could have saved them four grand and me eight grand. > More "terminal turnover" at the client than I am currently assigned to. > Took 6 weeks to get reimbursed for the second move out of Chicago. > Work on the client side is slow about 80% of the time, grueling 10% of the time and reasonable the other 10%. Was hoping that it would be a unique opportunity but now have time during my work day to write this. > I was on the bench for 10 weeks. It took 2 weeks for them to find me a place at the project they hired me for and then after the client's HR sat on my on boarding for a month, I was put on the real bench for 2 weeks and then it took another 2 for me to onboard into the alternate project. I eventually had to move some time after I joined the alternate project. > They will not pay for a MBA or technical Master's

Pros

Capgemini is very big brand. Any company will love to take you after Capgemini because the brand name will add lots of weight-age to your resume Capgemini do lots of CSR activities which is very good for the society For fresher it a good learning place (at least for 2 years) If you don't have much financial issue stay here for a long time. I am sure you will get good growth if you perform good Few teams get Work from home facility They provide paternity leaves to their employee Capgemini is innovative company but it will not reflect on every place They regularly organize online quiz where any can participate and win prizes If you will stay long you will get chance to go abroad

Cons

The appraisal system sucks in Capgemini. They give hike between 0–7% hike annually. 7% are those guys who are top performer of the company They have a tag line saying “People first” but they don't care about their employee. Capgemini believe that none of their employees get sick so they don't have any sick leaves only 22 paid leave Its IT company but all the operational process work like manual. for example, if you want to submit phone bill by end of the month, first you have to take print out (that also most of the printer will not work), then you have signed on that then you have to scan your signed bill and then upload it to bill claim portal. You have a 3 month notice period which is most of the time non-negotiable. but while joining Capgemini they will expect you to join as soon as possible For most of the process, they expect you to work at least 9.5 hours a day
