Pros

- New office stocked with snacks

Cons

- Boxed in to position with no relevance to education or original job offer due to lack of people in the department - Time theft: Capgemini gives hours of mandatory training that you are either supposed to do during the time you are billing the client or on your own time outside of work unpaid - Cog in the machine: because this is a global company, it's difficult to get answers on most topics. Half the company doesn't respond to their emails and the other half reference you to ask someone else. Very much feel like none of the work I do matters and no one at my company really knows me

An inspiring place to work

Pros

As a current employee of Capgemini I think its a fantastic place to work, I have been with the company for almost 6 years and in that time I have had several opportunities and my career has grown. Capgemini lives by the values that were created at the very start by the founder and it is clear that the employees also live by these values. One of those values is freedom and Capgemini gives freedom to its employees in abundance, Trust is also another important value which works between all stakeholders. Capgemini is a diverse organisation and if you are hungry to develop this is a great place to be. The training and development opportunities are vast and range from on the job training through to more formal based learning. Capgemini really promotes diversity and as a woman that works part time with a child at home - this is very important to me.

Cons

Some of the roles require lots of travel but that is the nature of the business and anyone joining the company should be made aware or ask about this at interview stage. The organisation is very complex which can also be a huge benefit. I think new joiners and employees should take the time to try and understand the business as a whole.

Pros

- looks good on the outside - get a table seat with a view of MBS - snacks in pantry - so stable, if you don't do anything, you can still cruise through

Cons

- full of incompetent CECA - messy management, no structure, projects constantly under fire - grad program just there to fill in local headcount to hire more CECA - generally not much useful dev work if you're looking to be a SWE - promises training but they just dumps you with videos to watch with no concrete learning pathway - 80% of the projects are just helping out with bids / BA work / organise get-togethers and webinars for colleagues who can't be bothered as well - no bonus (only for manager and above)
