Pros

Consulting provides the opportunity to work on different challenges at different clients and broaden your skillset. Learn industry standards and methodologies. Regional model means a higher chance you'll be staffed on a local project

Cons

Give up your work-life balance if you want to progress in the organization, Manager and above. Top heavy compensation structure thus, people below VP level get meager bonus and performance increases (3% tops).

Pros

As an outsourcing and consulting company, Capgemini's product is it's people. It's harder to recruit than retain, so Cap is more than willing to train you if you show a desire to remain with the company. The company is willing to send people for offsite training and to aquire on-site training. It provides a very robust offering of on-line resources to enhance your skills.

Cons

Given that Cap is an oursourcing, or consulting, company, if the client contract terminates, you may have to move to remain employed with Cap. Being a HUGE company, sometimes there is a lack of personalized attention from management.

Pros

The salary isn't bad. You can work in a lot of different fields and travel if you like that sort of thing. The enormity of the company will help you become a world class professional.

Cons

There's too much travel. You can commit your life for a few years but then get burned out easily. It might be worthwhile having their name on your resume for a bit but don't stay long.
