The worst of the worst

Pros

- Very team-dependent, good WLB when you’re not on call

Cons

- Management will put on a show and PIP you for “influence” and “communication” even though you’re already doing your best - Medical issue? You’ll be PIPed the next review cycle, no matter what your medical issue is. No compassion or empathy. - On-call shifts, long hours troubleshooting with no reward. Never got promoted in the time I was there and barely got any raises every year.

Pros

Decent pay PTO isn’t tracked

Cons

Required to come in but traffic and parking is a nightmare You’re trapped on campus but horrible food Most importantly- don’t respond honestly to the “anonymous” survey. You’ll reap the repercussions. HR / AR is not there to support you - they will always choose the company. And if you have any kind of short term disability leave, if you are neurodivergent or not a cool white girl - at least in EA / Legal / C suite / corp strategy - you won’t last.

Pros

Flexibility of working from home.

Cons

Pathetic culture. Managers are the one who can either make or break your career here. If you are not in the good books, no matter how good you work, you will be gone. Took quick to judge individuals potential without providing them guidance. All of the work has to start from day 1 and you have to mend your own ways to get the work done. They don’t care if the data behind the deck is fudged, they will be happy if it satisfies their “intuition”. Performance ranking is a gimmick in this company.
