Pros

While I worked at Capital One, my team was super helpful and collaborative, there were lots of ways to get involved outside of my day-to-day, and WLB was great. Pay was less than FAANG but still pretty solid.

Cons

Stacked ranking is killing the company, especially when leadership makes poor decisions and has to change the amount of poor performers from 8% to 20% as an excuse to lay people off. WLB is definitely team dependent, and performance reviews often come down to who you know, how well your manager can vouch for you, and how hard the other people on your level work.

Pros

Pay was good but slightly under my younger peers.

Cons

As someone over 45 they proved time and again they were not interested in me. They only want people under 40 unless you are In very senior leadership roles . They did everything they could to make work uncomfortable and did not support me in any sort of career advancement.

Pros

The company offers great pay and benefits

Cons

Heavy politics in management, performance management allows bad managers to remain in place, promote favorites and bully/harass other employees. Two words: "Mean Girls" - both men and women.
