      Pros

      It is too diverse to summarise here. A lot depends on the business unit and your manager. I worked in two BU's under four managers. In one I found a lot of interesting work being done. In the other there was no clear direction and projects kept getting cancelled. So if you are lucky, you can find good work. Also it is easier to achieve life/work balance.

      Cons

      Too much politics!! In order to get promoted, you need to be good at buttering up to your manager and his manager. You will go nowhere if you or your manager gets victimised in turf grabbing.

      Pros

      It is a good company to work for in terms of work/family life balance. Flex hours are permitted. Open communication within department.

      Cons

      Not much room for advancement. Not many opportunities for internal movement. Most new hires are not in the United States.

      Health benefits vacation and flex time is good Nice cafeteria and office buildings Gym on-site with trainers and nice equipment Nice campus for walking

      Cons

      Working beyond reason - nights, weekends, etc so basically your pay isn't that great when spread out over all the hours. Better off to take a fun job and work nights somewhere. This is a very stressful and aggressive work environment. Politics reign supreme and it is not a fun place to work. Too much stress and management unable to respond appropriately. Pigeonholing and promotions based more on friendships/nationality then qualifications. A dead end opportunity for the vase majority. The company has changed so much - not the same Cisco it use to be.
