      Good place to gain experience (entry level)

      Pros

      Big company, which maybe translate to job security, and lots of places to move within, but very hard if you get screwed by your manager. Cisco is a good place if you are entry level and you want to work for 2-4 years to gain some experience. Promotion is bit difficult but if you work hard you can be promoted also depends on your manager

      Cons

      Too many contractors from infosys and similar companies that have no idea what the hell they are doing! You have be butt buddies with your manager to get ranked high in the performance. Some of them very political and give priority to people like them. For example indians only give good recommendation to other indians... very disappointing!

      Excellent pay, but a few flaws

      Pros

      Excellent compensation (including bonus and base salary). Many different aspects of the company, and if you are able to move around, you can work on many different cool projects. Also I think CIsco is one of the strongest companies, and will always remain a backbone of the technology sector -- as any company requires an IT infrastruture (something Cisco has a "monopoly" in)

      Cons

      Cisco is too big, often times you will not know whats going on in other parts of the company. From what I saw, I think its hard to move up the ladder, because people have been there for so long.
