      Pros

      It totally depends on which area , you are working. Lot of innovation, fun in Emerging market groups, where as too much of politics and sluggishness and lack of innovation in the basic router groups

      Cons

      Too much politics. No work life balance. Senior management and middle management are not competitive enough, and lack passion for innovation

      * Senior management genuinely treats employees like family * Tremendous commitment to giving back to the community * Solid financial foundation and management with plenty of resources to invest * Great telecommuniting and flexible schedule policy * Strong culture of candid and open communications from management

      * Increasingly bureaucratic * Too San Jose-centric... All policies, meetings, and processes are catered to San Jose * Jobs becoming increasingly more narrowly defined with little room for learning and growth into adjacent areas * Promotions and movement are still largely dependent on whom you know

      Lots of varied work environments, if you can pick the right one and adapt Great, smart people, fun to work with Working from home is widespread and gives you great work-life balance and flexible hours

      Cons

      People work all hours and weekends Salary growth is slow after working for many years, options are not what they were in the past People managers are far and few...most concentrate on delivery only and burning out their employees People are rewarded more on saving a failing project with diving catches, rather than running a project smoothly with no surprises
