Pros

many different business units - so lots of opportunity to learn mix of good and bad organizations: do your homework before joining. Each business unit has its own culture Overall good company to spend a couple of years in and then leave.

Cons

-low pay, not much advancement -lots of nepotism. I worked in ~ 5 business units and each of them were stacked with their own 'in' crowd -lack of innovation

- good compensation (salary, bonus, ESPP, RSU, "connected recognitions", donation matching) - 25 vacation days a year + birthday - respecting employees - great compensations at lay offs - (for few people) varied career opportunity

Cons

- The company lacks technological focus/agenda/roadmap. It is being managed only by Sales and Finance people. - very frequent lay offs (LR - Limited Restructuring) - no room for techinological innovations, because the company expects very quick ROI, rather than long term growth - Cisco is very focused on its core business (Network equipment) and doesn't care a lot about other stuff, as it is hard to compete with the income of its core buisness - poor HR and IT support - everything is self-serve, and long waits for overseas teams
