Pros

Benefits, great set of products and services. Compensation is ok, could be improved in some of the engineering roles. Can’t think of many other pros, trying to hit the 20 word minimum limit to be honest.

Cons

No diversity in engineering. It’s operated as a compete sweatshop. Nights and weekends are normal working hours for some BUs. No advancement if you are not part of the same ethnic group.. You are replaced by someone who can work the extra hours and has the yes sir attitude. Contractors are flown in over a span of two days and stuffed into apartments with others to do sub par work for sub par pay.

Pros

A good place for political player and talkers. Because you talk and present and don't need to write any code or design or architect anything. Very good pay for Principal Engineer, director level pay and don't need to do much. A balance of life and work.

Cons

Not enough coder. The quality of the products is severely impacted. The pay is not attractive unless you are level 12 or above. like Principal Engineer. Every year, there is always an annual layout. The layoff is not based on performance but connection. Don't expect you can get a green card soon or one because every layoff, the green card process is stopped. RSU goes to the management, engineers won't get much or any. Firefighting on the lousy product all the time. No clear future road map. Promotion is based on connection, not performance. Cisco constantly promotes senior manager (not very technical people) to Principal Engineer. That is why it keeps losing its technical leadership. Losing market share to its competitors.
