      0 work-life balance - There was an article on our company's intranet site today stating that 85% of Cisco employees enjoy some flexible work from options however this is outright discouraged and prevented within WebEx sales. This is completely hypocritical since we are selling web-conferencing products which allow customers to conduct business "Any where, Any time, On Any Device" - Yes that is the company's cute tag line - just don't expect it to apply to WebEx sales professionals - not even when there is a severe snow storm. Their approach is to send an email reminding us to leave our house earlier so we can make it in on time... (Yeah don't even think about working from home on those occasions)

      Smart engineers who freely share knowledge and take time to collaborate. Good benefits - matching 401K, PTO. Flexible hours. Excellent facilities, including free fitness center. Bonus Good severance package LOTS to learn

      Cons

      60-80 hour weeks No promotions Too many rules and processes that change as soon as you understand and adopt them Very complex Cisco software is requently amended by patching in code from purchased companies - with minimal cohesion Little-to-no insight by San Jose top management on sites outside of San Jose Development teams in three time zones are a challenge and make 'Agile" pretty sluggish and ineffective
