Pros

Great Environment (in terms infrastructure, facilities, policies, resources, opportunities with in organization, Trainings for self learning (not from project), employee benefits etc). Employees love to be part of the organization.

Cons

Only one con is management - more elaborated below.... 1. No regular/proper hikes. If you want proper hike, you need to switch divisions at regular intervals. You are not important to your division. 2. Layoffs (2 cases: Either you( or your division) are not doing good or if some top level management guy makes some crap decision. Long term survival is difficult. 3. Top management expects too much profit margin from projects(60%), doesn't respect customer needs. Management decisions effect a lot division business, which results in shutting down of division. Be smart to predict these and move to some other division or company.... 4. Very frequently buy other companies without proper reasons, burn hands, and shutting them. 5. Less innovation. Note: There may be exception for few divisions (which are doing good).

Pros

Great Place to work, lots of options with regard to products, teams, locations. Great benefits too.

Cons

Sometimes too big for it's own good. Lots of overlapping products competing with each other. Looking to revamp itself as a subscription based software company ( understandable), but at the at the expense of massive layoffs of people that have dedicated their careers to Cisco and have survived many such transitions in the past. This often seems to target folks they think make too much money, are not in a growing line line of business, etc. We all get the need to right-size periodically, but there are less drastic means to do so.
