When I left a well respected hardware company to come to Cisco, everyone tried to talk me out of it, a manager told me (who worked there several years prior to coming to the company where we both worked) told me "at Cisco people don't tend to stab you in the back, they'll come right up to you and stab you in the face!" - a few weeks later I found out how truthful that was
