Pros

Nothing to be honest with you, get your CCIE and run away

Cons

0 career opportunities Racist management team TAC is a factory of slaves You will be asked to do the work of a higher grade in order to prove yourself but dont expect a salary hike/promotion No training was provided, you are expected from day 0 to know the technology you are handling Legacy technologies for some teams TAC Brussels is closing down since is not competitive any more Low salary A LOT of micromanagement No overtime being paid No career path to move to CX

Pros

IF someone wants to move to people manager role. CISCO India is the best place to be. people managers are desginated as engineering managers , but when it comes to technical cappabilties are pathetic. You just need one skill - micro management. Have your numbers updated before higher management.

Cons

Beyond 10 years of experience. you will murder your techical carrier growth . There is now cutting edge technical work moving to india. CISCO India Less 0.5% have any meaning ful growth. These are the chosen onces by VP/ Director , who are given RSUs more oftern. RSUs distribution is always done in close doors and its opaque. you will not even know if a quarter has budget for that . Very few coming from external hired make a mark. Worst thing is you will end up reporting to your buddy / colleague - or may be junior who chose to be people manager , than being in technical ( not even having management degrees) . No matter , the person could be technical background, be even 50% of your capapbilities. But he is well oiled in the system . Salaries for pure technical individual contributors can be compared by service companies once you complete 5 years of normalization.

Not a secure job

Pros

- Great benefits, Cisco pays for them - super nice people (if you run into them in the office) - supports hybrid or fully remote work depending on your role

Cons

No job security! They acquire so many companies and then just lay you off as if you make no difference or impact. How on earth do they keep getting rewarded for “Great Place to Work”. After a fraction of my department was let go, it left those behind with such a bitter taste in their mouths because we did all the work for them and now they have no one.
