Pros

Working from home is a great plus. The benefits are in line with the industry.

Cons

Layoffs, layoffs, layoffs - Cisco lays off every year and has it down to a science. It's easy to assume you won't be one of the ones impacted because you are a hard worker, are loyal and have received great reviews. But, your reviews, loyalty and hard work don't really matter. At Cisco, you are a number.

Pros

Cisco offers good benefits and pay. You are independent to innovate and less micro management

Cons

Too many managers that are from to another country You are always on the target for Layoffs - Only shareholder is thought No communications between teams Isolated means you do not advance in your career

Pros

Challenging work, freedom to solve problems, good benefits, and pay is very competitive.

Cons

Constant cycle of lay-offs. New hiring is heavily focused on college grads, while lay-offs tend to focus on higher salary experienced workers. Cisco uses a lot of somewhat unskilled contractors to fill the voids left by lay-offs, leaving some business units in near chaos. Cisco is top-heavy in management. There seems to be a line drawn between first line managers and the management team above, where the folks in the trenches making things happen don't really know what that upper layer of management is doing. Then there's a slew of Program Managers that seem to have no other responsibility other than to feed information to upper management. Employees in the trenches question the value being provided by upper management.

Thank you for your review. We know that we have had to make some tough decisions but we do value all of our employees--including our contractors.
