Pros

Global bulge bracket IB Good to get experience at a junior level Global network able to be leveraged on both a regional and a local basis

Cons

Negativity sentiment towards the brand as a result of GFC Poor management performance at all levels Overly rigid process of reporting through NYC - lack of regional autonomy Promotions based on ability to "brown-nose" rather than any inherent capabilities - in fact often it was the reverse Lots ot pitching, not enough live deals Excessive in-fighting when it came to revenue allocation as it drove end of year comp reviews

Pros

Citi has a great work/ life balance with a flexible work schedule. There is a young and fun corporate culture.

Cons

Compensation is very poor. Promotions are given without salary increases. Decisions made are from so many levels above that they don't make practical sense when applied. The company is full of overpaid managers that do very little to contribute to the bottom line while the first three levels of positions are considered expendable.
