Pros

The work leads you to work with people all over the country in a variety of disciplines. Everyone has a headset and a personal 800#. Management is receptive to new ideas but getting it accepted is a tough hurdle. You CAN get noticed if you get yourself in front of the right people for the right reasons. Citi has successfully implemented "work from home" 2 days a week. I've worked with a lot of SMART people at Citi.

Cons

Because of the overall economic issues, the marketing budget has dried up and there is no room for trying something new. As a result, people have been in the SAME job for YEARS, with no special projects to showcase one's abilities. Working at Citi is often compared to working for the government - It is a massive bureaucracy. There is a policy and procedure for everything. A bezillion people work on every project, although this may have changed after the recent layoffs. Regarding performance reviews... If you are working with people outside of Atlanta, these people have no input to how you are reviewed. Only people in Atlanta have input. Regarding flexible work schedule.... Citi has successfully implemented "work from home" 2 days a week. Otherwise, however, I know of 2 Citi employees who negotiated to go part-time, and both were unsuccessful.

Pros

You will learn alot about managing numbers, and making presentations and managing projects.

Cons

This is not a people building place to work. Individuals are promoted for managing multiple projects- and not spending time with the people that are expected to make the results.

Pros

Citi is such a large company that there are so many opportunities to move laterally if you're looking to try something different or elevate your career

Cons

The hours can be long and the compensation could be better.
