Pros

It's not a sweatshop. Reasonably accomodating to working from home. Little sense of job paranoia given the financial crisis. Some very capable, intelligent and friendly people.

Cons

Restrictive network policies - IE 6.0 only 'legal' browser, many restricted sites, 'no downloading' policy, all 3rd party software subject to IT dept 'wrapping'. Intra-company communications stuffed with corporate blather. Very little communication/co-operation/sharing between businesses. Employee productivity takes second place to data entitlement restrictions in software development environment.

There is nothing bad to say.

Pros

Name value of the company helps when looking for a new job. Exposure working with people from across the world and the opportunity to be involved in different businesses across the firm.

Cons

Employees view Senior management as having mainly short-term goals in mind. HR provides little career cousleing and support.
