Combined compensation and benefits packages are very good. Excellent 401K benefits package and tools to learn to manage the account are very good.

Cons

No job security. Inflexible approach to banking. No clear vision for the future. Focus is on cutting people and expense, not growing the business.

Working at Citigroup provides employees with great experience in the financial services field. It is a great item for one's resume and possesses a measure of prestige. Benefits are good. Tuition reimbursement and 401k contribution matching are examples of employee incentives.

Cons

It is a difficult place to get into and once in the door, advancement is extremely difficult. Professionalism is very important so the atmosphere isn't very relaxed.

Rewards dynamic personalities. Citigroup's overall market presence means you get to work on interesting deals & the organisation has lots of resources (if you know where to look).

Cons

Bureaucracy too big. Success at the highest levels requires organisational perceptiveness which is hard to learn if you don't naturally have it.
