Pros

I joined Citi two years ago as a software engineer in one of their teams. The pay is competitive and the work/life balance is good. My upper management allows us to work from home four days a week, which is very convenient. Overall, I think Citi is a decent place to work if you land on a good team with a good manager. But be prepared to deal with some frustration and politics along the way.

Cons

However, I also face some challenges working for such a huge company. There is a lot of red tape and bureaucracy that slows down the progress and innovation. My middle manager is not very supportive or transparent with me. He seems more interested in making himself look good than helping his team grow. The technology we use is outdated and restrictive. We also have to attend many useless meetings that waste our time and energy.

Pros

The salary is average and they offer a 6% matching 401K

Cons

Citi is a sweatshop. If you are an American you will be placed at the back of the hiring line. When walking through the corporate office you'd never know you're in the US. Over the years Citi has actively terminated US born citizen employees in favor of H1B's and others. This is after they off shored all functions banking regulators would allow. The environment has also become toxic and life draining. Day to day you never know when security walks up behind you and escorts you out of the building after decades of employment. No warning, no party, no watch, just a rushed packing of your personal effects then they hustle you out of the door. After watching this happen dozens of times to good hard working coworkers you realize this place is just pure evil. Those of us left are asked to pick up the slack and do the work of your departed coworkers. A common theme in todays corporate world it seems. Avoid at all costs

Pros

Citi Brand Citi Employee Benefits Citi Paternity Leaves

Cons

Repenting joining Citi & extremely dis-satisfied by Citi because I have left Citi in 9 months spoiling my profile thinking I could have grown more in other organization in this time. 1. Salesforce - CPB or Salesforce - CPBWM is having Worst Management its ruining Citi Logo starting from VP till Sr. MD. 2. Always create barriers for New Joiner to grow because they fear their credibility will be down graded because they have worked in Tradition Technology & no guts for up skilling to Salesforce thats why they want Vendors who will be silent workers. 3. Arrogant, Trust-less, Egoistic, Rude, Worst Bosses (Not A Single Leader in CPB/CPBWM) , Mediocrity, Intimidators, Groups of Cons in Management, etc. 4. No-One-Can-Touch-Me-Here, I-Do-Not-Care, Go-Talk-To-Any-One, Shut-Your-Month, Listen-To-Me-First, etc. attitude seems like working in Start Up. Wondering how Citi completed 200 legendary years. 5. Promotions, Recognition, Rewards, On-Sites, Free Hands, etc. only given to a person who can lick never to person who works. 6. Management always create bubbles to show tiny work as mammoth work and then does self-appreciation without any reason. 7. Never welcomes any suggestions or opinions believing they are Proprietors of CPB/CPBWM and no one is above them in hierarchy. 8. Deliberately implementing less optimised Salesforce functionalities because if there are no issues then, how their bread & butter will continue. 9. MD & Sr. MD are just worried about their retirement and retirement corpus or corporate benifits. They are real traitors. 10. If Citi HR Team is reading this, get in touch with CPB/CPBWM HR. for more info. She will remember my name & I am open for any discussions, if someone cares for employee. 11. Never go for BYOD (Bring-Your-Own-Device) Policy because you will never get Rent/WFH Allowance/Inverter Backup/Rs. "0" repair and maintenance by Citi for BYOD. Suggestions - If you want to get in comfort zone then this is right place to be in. Otherwise, it will be really hard for a person who is a continuous learner or who wants to grow on his/herself without licking job.
