It’s good to hear flexible working is working for you. Your comment about shoplifting and violence is serious and it’s exactly why we have our Safer Colleagues, Safer Communities approach. Everyone in store has a role to play in keeping each other safe, and we expect managers to support that fully. If you feel those measures aren't in place or not followed, that’s something we’d want raised internally. Talk to your manager about how you are feeling and make sure that any incidents are being reported in the right way.

Thanks for your review. It’s good to hear you appreciated the 30% colleague member discount and the Stream app to access your wages early. On Sunday trading, many of our stores in the Bognor Regis are small-format outlets, which means they’re legally allowed to open unrestricted on Sundays.

Pros

Pay is fairly reasonable and hours aren't horrendous. Provides good retail experience.

Cons

Stores are incredibly understaffed and far too much is asked of CTM's between packing online orders, serving customers, stocking shelves and watching out for shoplifters. The response to the cyber attack has been woeful. Stores have been given far more stock than they can handle whilst hours keep being taken away. What I find particularly horrendous though is the horrendous culture in the job. Some managers spend entire shifts talking about the co-workers behind their back if they call in sick, choose not to do overtime or are determined to be "not good enough".

Thank you for your review and feedback. We're sorry to hear of your experiences working in our food stores. We appreciate how challenging working in retail convenience can be, but we don't want any of our colleagues to feel overwhelmed so it's important that where you feel confident, you speak to your manager. The behaviours that you're describing are not what we expect from any of our store managers and we would appreciate it if you could share more information with us about this. You can find help and support using the Ask Bobbi feature on MyHR or alternatively, find contacts for the HR team at colleagues.coop.co.uk/contacts.
