Slow and corporate with lots of politics.

Pros

Flexible working, I enjoyed the benefits and the office if first class with a gym on site.

Cons

It's slow to change. Very corporate with a lot of middle and higher management occupied by people who have been there for years. This makes it hard for change and if you face doesn't fit with them you might as well leave to progress.

Pros

Work life balance was excellent. Flexi-time from 8-9:30am to 4-5:30 with a hour lunch. Heavily subsidised gym on site with classes, personal trainers and snooker tables. Open plan offices Most of my colleagues were nice and made some good friends. Management can be great. My line manager was wonderful In my position I was able to meet a lot of different people from different departments which kept things interesting. Got involved in one or two big projects. Having time off to help communities and raise money for charities Friday afternoon in the pub. They have good benefits. If your are in the LGBT community it's a great place to work. They do a lot of work with the community and their policies show that. Great attitude towards sickness and needing time off.

Cons

There were plenty of cons for me but some of them are irrelevant now but still plenty to say. Technology - absolutely garbage! Old, one tiny screen, slow and no method of working from home. I must say this was in Miller St building, 1AS you can work from home and they have better technology. Management - Some managers were so bad people were saying they would rather quit than be placed under them. These managers were very old fashioned and don't have a clue how to manage in today's world. The co-op intranet may say one thing about a policy but don't take that as gospel. If top management in your area disagrees with it they will let you know leading to a lot of confusion on what you can and can not do. No progression, no career path. No training.

Pros

Great training, great prospects and good people to work with. Lots of things to do to keep you busy.

Cons

No security so personal safety is out of the window. Lack of staff hours poses a problem for stores that are not able to avhieve their weekly budget but fine if they do.
