Pros

Local store, good team of people, strong processes, healthy pay

Cons

Shift work, as someone new would appear that work with weaker team members consistently, no shift rotation and always work beyond contracted hours. Getting time off is challenging especially if within 4 weeks of rota being produced. Holidays have to be requested for full year before the end of the holiday year (75% minimum) hard for me to predict because of partners job. Need more staff as when people are absent, others don’t get their time off, work extra and there’s a bit of burn out

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re really pleased to hear that you enjoy working in your local Co-op store, value the team around you, and feel supported by our processes and pay. We appreciate your comments regarding shift patterns, fairness, and workload. We would always encourage colleagues to raise any concerns directly with their Store Manager, particularly around shift rotation and working beyond contracted hours, so these can be addressed locally and fairly. While it is true that we encourage colleagues to book holidays in at the start of the holiday year, we do understand things can change. We ask for a minimum of 4 weeks' notice for booking and approval of holidays. Thank you again for your openness, feedback like this helps us continue improving the experience for our colleagues.

Pros

benefits and an ethical company

Cons

miscalculated my holiday pay when i left, didn't think about contacting me first to discuss this, and instead sent a debt collector after me for £600. took me 2 years to settle the case. management are also the most snide and evil people you'll ever meet.

We're sorry to hear of your experience. While we cannot comment on individual situations, this doesn't sound typical to us. In the event of an overpayment every effort would be made to contact you to make arrangements for the repayment. Third parties usually get involved where no contact has been possible.

Pros

Good discounts off co-op brand products. Family like good team support.

Cons

How well things go depend on the personalities you are working with. Co-op often expect a team of 2 to run a whole store for certain shifts and if it gets busy it can be challenging to get everything done that's expected.

Thank you for your amazing 5 star rating and for your feedback. We're pleased to see that you are enjoying the benefit of Co-op's colleague member discount of 30%. We know how busy things can be in store so if you're having any concerns with your workload, or any challenges with personalities, we recommend speaking with your manager to help resolve these things, no matter how small it might feel.
